At the helm, managing director Brett Saggers is an industry veteran and second-generation, who personally delivers over 47 years of diversified marine knowledge.
The family has been “devoted to boating since 1961”. Their anchor is firmly grappled, and the strong family continuation of Jake Saggers an active third generation, alongside the steadfast and dedicated Saggers Marine Team, will fulfill “Boating Dreams” to the lives of thousands more, throughout Australia!

1961…
The Saggers family business known as Hayway Marine was commenced by Brett’s father. It was located at 992 Hay Street, Perth (next to Lynas Ford, in those days!).
1975 – 1979…
Brett started in the marine industry manufacturing Boat trailers with “Trailit Trailers”. He acquired the skills to manufacture all styles and sized boat trailers. Such a great asset over the coming decades!
1979-1996…
Brett commenced at Hayway Marine as a boat detailer and general hand, plus carried out Boat demonstrations too. One year later, due to his customer passion, he was selling Boats!
1987…
Became the General Manager. This role included stock management which constantly was around “One Hundred New and Used Boats”, at any one time.
Fiberglass brands such as Fraser, Voyager, King Craft, Caribbean, Ness Craft, Chivers, Haines Hunter, Penguin, Savage, Ski Craft, Lewis, Giflite, Pride, plus, aluminum brands such as Westerberg, Stacer, Savage, Koolyn Craft, Quintrex, Trail Craft, Alu Craft and so much more!
1989…
Became a company director. Due to the recession, it was a challenging time. The business was re located to 223 Great Eastern Highway, Belmont and remained, one of the largest under cover Boat Showrooms in Australia!
1995-2003…
He acquired a fibreglass boat manufacturing company known as King Craft Boats that specialised in Trailable boats ranging from 16’ to 19’.
1998…
King Craft Boats was relocated to a huge complex at 224 Railway Parade, Queens Park and range was expanded from 8’ through to 43’ flybridge cruisers.
King Craft Boats quality, combined with their great performance and vast range and Brett’s dedication to customer focus, sales accelerated making King Craft one of the largest fibreglass boat manufactures in Western Australia!
At this time, Brett developed a huge education for fiberglass Boat manufacturing including design and applying specialist composite technology that kept King Craft Boats on the cutting edge by way of using the most advanced boat manufacturing procedures.
1998…
The name Key West is synonymous with boating excellence. The KW 50’ sports flybridge cruisers are stand out Boats within Australia!
The KW 50’ developed a reputation of being one of WA’s leading designs with proven seaworthiness and performance, and the opulence of fit out being virtually limitless.
1998-2004…
Brett founded the company KeyWest in partnership with Steven Flanders whose boat manufacturing knowledge expanded over 25 years and was continually measured and tested by way of advanced hands-on experience and specialist knowledge with fiberglass laminations, cloth, and core composite technology.
End of 1998 the design and drawings were completed bringing the KW 50’ to a virtual reality. Nearly two years later, the plug work and mouldings were completed ready to produce what they believed, at that time, was the Best 50’… Blue Water Performer within Australia!
Shortly afterwards, eight boat sales occurred. Over the following three years over twenty of these magnificent boats were sold and produced!
2008-2020…
Brett commenced a business known as Marine Insurance Assessors which investigated marine insurance claims on behalf of many insurance companies across Australia which insured both pleasure and commercial vessels.
Insurance companies such as, AIG, Club Marine, Nautilus Marine, Pantaenius, RAC, Trident Marine, and QBE.
2019-2022…
The Saggers family purchased the boat brokerage company, Mandurah Boat Sales given its uniqueness being the only marine brokerage located on the water with multiple designated sales jetties.
2022…
Due to the extensive history of the Saggers family, the logical re brand was… “Saggers Marine”.
NSea (Nauti-Craft) proudly appointed Saggers Marine as their West Australian Distributor.
Brett & Jake travelled throughout Australia’s major Boat Show’s with a goal to find and represent some of the world’s best boat manufacturers. From that, Saggers Marine – was proudly appointed, the West Australian Dealer for… Herley Boats – Regal Boats – and Solar Explorer Yachts.
Sunset Boats – a range of beautiful houseboats also proudly appointed Saggers Marine as their Australian Dealer.
Saggers Marine proudly works alongside of Barbagallo Marine promoting the range of Pirelli Speedboats.
